Artist Statement

Long have I loved art and storytelling. As a kid I was guilty of judging a novel by it’s cover. But there is some merit to that, isn’t there? To find an intersection between the two styles of creating is most commonly found in film, animation, or illustration—rarely do we equate graphic design with narrative. But it does exist. We find stories in advertisement, photography, reactionary art, political statements, or those book covers we’re drawn to. What is a designer if not a storyteller? What is a storyteller if not a maker? Pursuing visual art as a form of narrative is my drive as a maker, a creator. And I hope those who see and read my stories are just as compelled by them as I am creating them.
